Belarus, Russian Federation forming group of troops

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, on November 8, released on Facebook.

“The enemy tries to hold the temporarily occupied territories, focuses efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces in certain areas, goes on the offensive in Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka directions,” reads the report.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian troops repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanhrad, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Marinka, Pavlivka, Vodiane and Mayorsk in Donetsk region and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region.

The enemy shells the units of the Defense Forces along the contact line, reinforces lines in certain directions, conducts aerial reconnaissance, continues to strike critical infrastructure and civilian houses in violation of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war.

Over the past day, the enemy launched nine missile strikes, 37 airstrikes, more than 100 MLRS attacks.

The Russians hit the areas of more than 25 settlements of Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation has not changed significantly. The Republic of Belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, providing the Russian Federation with infrastructure, territory and airspace. The formation of Russia–Belarus group of troops is underway in the territory of Belarus. There is still a threat of enemy airstrikes from the territory and airspace of Belarus.

In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy fired tanks, mortars, rocket and tube artillery on the areas of Udy, Starytsia, Chuhunivka, Fyholivka, and Dvorichanske settlements.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, artillery of various types was fired on the areas of Kyslivka, Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Myasozharivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Yampolivka, and Lyman settlements.

In Bakhmut direction, tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery were fired on the areas of Rozdolivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, and Mayorsk settlements.

In Avdiivka direction, tanks and the entire range of artillery were fired on the areas of Avdiivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka settlements.

In Novopavlivka direction, tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery were fired on the areas of Vuhledar, Pavlivka, Prechystivka, Vremivka, Novosilka, Neskuchne, and Novopil.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, artillery was fired on the areas of Temyrivka, Olhivske, Uspenivka, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Novodanylivka, and Stepove settlements.

In Southern Buh direction, the enemy struck the settlements of Vyshchetarasivka, Illinka, and Marhanets of Dnipropetrovsk region with MLRS.

Ukraine’s Air Force struck the enemy 24 times over the past day, hitting 17 personnel, weapons and military equipment clusters and seven air defense positions.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces shot down an enemy Su-25 aircraft, a Lantset-3 UAV, and four Orlan-10 drones in different directions.

The missile and artillery troops hit five command posts, two manpower, weapons and military equipment clusters, two ammunition depots, two anti-aircraft missile systems, and the firing positions of the occupiers' artillery.
