Ukrainian forces repel enemy attacks near 13 settlements
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ units have repelled the attacks by Russian occupiers near the Luhansk region’s Ploshchanka, Nevske and Bilohorivka; the Donetsk region’s Yakovlivka, Bakhmutske, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Opytne, Kurdiumivka, Druzhba, Nevelske, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka,” the report states.
Russian troops have launched five missile strikes and about 20 air strikes over the past day, and have opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) over 60 times.
Russian missiles struck such settlements as the Sumy region’s Velyka Pysarivka and the Zaporizhzhia region’s Komyshuvakha, Hryhorivske and Yulivka.
The threat of missile strikes on Ukraine’s energy system and critical infrastructure is persisting all over the country.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remained rather unchanged. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
In the Siverskyi direction, Russian troops launched mortar strikes on the Sumy region’s Khodyne and Basivka.
In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy used mortars and cannon artillery to open fire on the Kharkiv region’s Strilecha, Krasne, Zelene, Ternova, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Chuhunivka and Kamianka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian invaders shelled the Kharkiv region’s Dvorichna, Skynkivka, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane, Krokhmalne, Berestove and Pershotravneve, and the Luhansk region’s Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery.
In the Lyman direction, Russian occupiers used tanks and various artillery pieces to strike the Luhansk region’s Hrekivka, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Nevske and Chervonopopivka, and the Donetsk region’s Torske and Hryhorivka.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops opened fire on over 20 settlements, including the Donetsk region’s Verkhniokamianske, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Dyliivka, Druzhba and Zalizne.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy struck the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka, Berdychiv, Pervomaiske, Marinka and Novomykhailivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops launched artillery and mortar strikes near the Donetsk region’s Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrainka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka and Novopil.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian invaders opened fire on the Zaporizhzhia region’s Chervone, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, Kamianske, Chervonopopivka, and the Dnipropetrovsk region’s Vyshchetarasivka.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched artillery strikes on the Kherson region’s settlements, which are close to the contact line. Such settlements as Antonivka, Cjornobaivka, and the city of Kherson came under enemy fire. Casualties among civilians were reported.
In addition to losses suffered by Russian troops due to the fire inflicted by Ukrainian forces, enemy units are also suffering from the so-called ‘friendly fire’. This is the result of the low level of training received by tank and artillery crews, and the lack of interaction and connection between enemy units.
Meanwhile, over the past day, Ukraine’s missile and artillery forces have struck four Russian command posts and five personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters.
