Armed Forces of Ukraine hit three important Russian objects in Melitopol
"As for Melitopol town and Melitopol district, the weekend for the ruscists was especially hellish. First of all, their checkpoint in the settlement of Bohdanivka, 20 km from Melitopol, was destroyed. It is symbolic because the logistics hub of the ruscists is located there, through which they redeploy their military equipment by rail," Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine–Ukrinform.
Second, he noted, a radar station was destroyed, which the Russians used for air defense and air navigation.
And the third object is a hotel and restaurant complex on the outskirts of Melitopol, where, according to the mayor, a unit of the Russian FSB responsible for analytics and maintenance of FSB databases was accommodated. In addition, military personnel from the Ossetian unit lived and rested in the hotel.
"On these three objects, the ruscists suffered dozens of irreversible losses, and another 200 invaders went to hospitals," Fedorov noted.
He added that the last strike caused real panic among the invaders and collaborators. They considered this part of the town (where several factories, police station, etc. are located apart from the hotel) completely protected. Now they are trying to redeploy and disguise themselves, but, Fedorov stressed, the Armed Forces of Ukraine learns about all movements from local Ukrainian patriots.
However, the mayor added, the invaders, frightened by the successful work of the Ukrainian army, intensify the pressure on local residents. Since yesterday, they have been conducting searches not only in houses and apartments but also in the market.
According to Fedorov, it is difficult to evacuate from the occupied territories of the region: men of draft age are not allowed to evacuate at all, and only 400 people managed to leave over the past week. In addition, as part of the mobilization measures, the occupiers send text messages to Melitopol residents with the demand to come to the "military enlistment offices".
