Russian armed aggression affects over 1,303 children in Ukraine
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of December 15, 2022, over 1,303 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 447 children were killed and over 856 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.
These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (426), Kharkiv region (267), Kyiv region (117), Mykolaiv region (80), Zaporizhzhia region (78), Kherson region (72), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (65), and Dnipropetrovsk region (33).
On December 14, 2022, an 8-year-old boy was killed in Russia’s shelling of Kherson.
When documenting the war crimes committed by Russian troops in the Mykolaiv region, three sisters were found out to have been killed in the Bashtanka district’s village of Novopetrivka: two of them were 16 years old, and one 14 years old.
On November 24, 2022, a 17-year-old teenager was injured in Russia’s shelling of Kherson.
As a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, a total of 3,126 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine, and 337 of them were destroyed completely.
