Russians reinforcing positions in Zaporizhzhia direction - Khlan
Serhii Khlan, a member of the Kherson Regional Council, said this on the air of Ukrainian Channel 24, Ukrinform reports.
"A large number of rashists moved from Kakhovka and Nova Kakhovka to Nyzhni Sirohozy, located on the Kherson-Melitopol road, on the border with Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers built fortifications there along these main routes. And now they want to reinforce the Zaporizhzhia direction and are considering a possible offensive of our armed forces from Zaporizhzhia. Therefore, the occupiers are relocating their main forces, reinforcing precisely their checkpoints, which are located on the roads from Melitopol and from Zaporizhzhia. The number of Russian troops in Nova Kakhovka and Kakhovka has somewhat decreased. But, unfortunately, it is impossible to say that they have completely left the city," Khlan said.
He added that redeployment is underway, the enemy is leaving its observation posts. However, Russians will unlikely fully withdraw from Kakhovka and Nova Kakhovka. Their presence there is still quite significant, Khlan said.
As reported, the enemy is restoring the railway infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia direction to improve logistics support, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
