Invaders forcing children in Luhansk region to obtain Russian citizenship
The Luhansk Regional Military Administration said this in a post on the messaging app Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"The Kremlin is in a hurry to forcibly issue passports to residents of the occupied Luhansk region. What they did not consider necessary to do for eight years they are trying to do in a few months, in order to instill in people distrust of Ukraine and, at the same time, to strengthen their own propaganda. The procedure for submitting an application for recognition of a child who lives in the occupied territory and has not yet reached the age of 14 as a citizen of the Russian Federation has already entered into force. For this, one of the parents must have a passport of the Russian Federation," the report said.
The agency added that such a "document" may not be received, but then a person may be subject to layoffs or denial of social benefits. "The occupiers do not leave time for reflection," the regional military administration said.
