Eleven of thirteen Shahed attack drones shot down over Kharkiv

This night, the Russian invaders launched 13 Iranian-made drones to strike Kharkiv's energy infrastructure. Eleven of them were shot down.

That’s according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"Over the past day, the enemy launched 30 air strikes and seven missile strikes, in particular, on the civilian infrastructure of Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region, and Kharkiv. They also carried out more than 70 attacks with MLR systems," the message reads.

Overnight Thursday, Russian invaders once again struck the energy infrastructure in Kharkiv, using 13 Iranian-made Shahed-136 UAVs. The Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down 11 of them.

The enemy continues offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, also trying to improve their tactical position in the Lyman direction.

The Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Stelmakhivka, Andriivka, Ploshanka and Chervonpopivka in Luhansk region and Belohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Pobieda in Donetsk region.

The situation remains stable in the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, no signs of enemy offensive groupings being formed have been detected.

In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna irections, the areas of Hremyachka and Lypivka of Chernihiv region were subjected to artillery shelling; Znob-Trubchevsk, Chernatske, Iskryskivshchyna, Budky and Zapsilya of Sumy region, as well as Chervona Zorya, Veterynarne, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Starytsia, Ternova, Novomlynsk, and Dvorichna in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy shelled the areas of more than 20 settlements. Among them are Sinkivka, Vilshana, Kupiansk, Kislivka and Krokhmalne of Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Ploshanka, Chervopopivka and Dibrova – Luhansk region, as well as Yampolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy shelled more than 25 settlements, firing tanks, mortars, as well as barrel and jet artillery. In particular, these are Spirne, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Kostyantynivka, Mayorsk, and New York of Donetsk region.

Berdychi, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region came under enemy fire in the Avdiivka direction.

On the Novopavlivka direction, shelling was recorded near Vremivka, Velika Novosilka, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka in Donetsk region.

Areas of more than 25 settlements were shelled in Zaporizhia and Kherson directions. Among them are Hulyaipole, Malynivka, Charivne and Dorozhnianka in Zaporizhia region and Respublikanets, Kozatske, and Lvove in Kherson region. Once again, the civilian infrastructure of Oleshky and Kherson suffered from enemy shelling. There are casualties among civilians.

According to the General Staff, on December 27, in the areas of Tokmak, Tytove, Chernihivka, Polohy, and Berdiansk of Zaporizhia region, the Russians lost three units of military equipment, a command post, communications center, and about 230 servicemen as wounded in action. Information about KIAs is being clarified.

"Over the past day, our aviation made 17 sorties, striking enemy clusters and four times the positions of their anti-aircraft missile systems. Missile and artillery units hit five command and control points, three clusters, and an ammunition depot," the report notes.

As reported earlier, as of Dec 28, Russia’s death toll in Ukraine stood at nearly 103,770.
