About 3,400 Ukrainian servicemen remain in Russian captivity
The relevant statement was made by Commissioner of the Office of the President of Ukraine for Ensuring the Rights of Defenders Aliona Verbytska in an interview with the German mass media, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to DW.
“At the moment, Russia has confirmed the presence of 3,392 Ukrainian prisoners of war, but about 15,000 people have been listed as missing in Ukraine, and there are many civilians among them,” Verbytska told.
In her words, it is unknown to the Ukrainian side, whether these people are now in Russian captivity, or whether they have been deported from the temporarily occupied areas or killed.
A reminder that Russia does not allow the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to visit Ukrainian prisoners of war.
