War update: Ukrainian forces hit five enemy ammunition depots

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched 16 air strikes, and 15 of them on civil infrastructure. The enemy used eight Shahed-136 suicide drones, and all of them were shot down. Additionally, Russian invaders opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 17 times. Following Russia’s artillery strikes on peaceful settlements, casualties among civilians were reported.

Russian troops continue conducting offensive actions in the Lyman and Bakhmut directions. The enemy is trying to improve their tactical positions in the Kupiansk and Avdiivka directions.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the situation remained stable. There are no signs of enemy offensive groupings being formed.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy opened fire on the Chernihiv region’s Semenivka and Zaliznyi Mist; the Sumy region’s Zapsillia and Velyka Rybytsia; the Kharkiv region’s Morokhovets, Ternova, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Chuhunivka and Zarubynka.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian invaders inflicted fire damage near the Kharkiv region’s Kamianka, Dvorichna, Vilshana, Kupiansk, Kotliarivka and Tabaivka, and the Luhansk region’s Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy opened fire on the Luhansk region’s Nevske and Dibrova, and the Donetsk region’s Chervonopopivka and Torske.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian occupiers struck the Donetsk region’s Spirne, Berestove, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Druzhba, Maiorsk and New York.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops opened fire on the Donetsk region’s Vesele, Avdiivka, Nevelske, Marinka and Novomykhailivka.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian invaders shelled the Donetsk region’s Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Vremivka.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy struck the Zaporizhzhia region’s Temyrivka, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, Kamianske and Stepnohirsk, and the Dnipropetrovsk region’s Nikopol and Prymiske.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops opened fire with MLRS on civil infrastructure in Kachkarivka and Kherson.

As of December 29, 2022, a hospital in the Luhansk region’s Bilovodsk was overcrowded with the injured Russian military.

Up to 10 Russian invaders were injured and eliminated near the city of Donetsk. Additionally, two enemy military equipment units were destroyed and three more damaged.

Ukrainian air forces launched five strikes on enemy clusters. Over the past day, the Ukrainian military have also shot down Russia’s Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery units hit six enemy personnel and military equipment clusters, five ammunition depots and one electronic warfare system.
