Ukraine’s Air Force launches 10 strikes on enemy positions

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 2, published on Facebook.

"The enemy launched one missile strike and 28 airstrikes. It should be noted that the Russian occupiers launched 27 airstrikes on civilian infrastructure using Shahed-136 UAVs. All these drones were shot down," reads the report.

The enemy, losing a lot of manpower, continues to focus on offensive operations in Bakhmut direction and tries to improve its tactical position in Kupyansk and Avdiivka directions.

The situation has not changed significantly in Volyn, Polissia, Siversky, and Slobozhansky directions. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

In Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the areas of Yeline in Chernihiv region, Mayske in Sumy region, as well as Strilecha, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Kamyanka in Kharkiv region were hit.

In Kupyansk direction, the enemy fired mortars and rocket artillery on the areas of Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Lyman Pershyi, Vilshana, Kupyansk, Orlianka, Kotliarivka in Kharkiv region; Andriivka and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In Lyman direction, Makiivka, Chervonopopivka, and Dibrova in Luhansk region, Terny in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Bakhmut direction, the invaders continue to shell the areas of Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Soledar, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Mayorsk, and New York in Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka direction, enemy fire was recorded in Berdychi, Avdiivka, Heorhiyivka, Marinka, and Vodiane in Donetsk region.

In Novopavlivka direction, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka in Donetsk region were hit.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy struck Novopil in Donetsk region; Olhivske, Huliaypole, Dorozhnianka, Huliaypilske, Charivne, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Kamyanske, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region; Musiivka in Dnipropetrovsk region.

In Kherson direction, the enemy continues shelling populated settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. In particular, the civilian infrastructure of Kherson, Antonivka, and Beryslav was damaged by artillery shelling. Civilians were injured.

"During the day, Ukraine’s Air Force launched 10 strikes on the build-up areas of the Russian invaders and five more on the positions of the enemy anti-aircraft missile systems," the General Staff informed.

As reported, from February 24 to January 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 107,440 Russian aggressors, including 720 soldiers over the past day.
