Zelensky imposes sanctions on 119 Russian public figures, including three Ukrainians
The relevant decree, No.4/2023, was published on the president’s website, Ukrinform reports.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov has been tasked with monitoring the implementation of the relevant decision.
The decree enters into force from the day of its publication.
According to the decision, the NSDC decided to support proposals made by the Security Service of Ukraine on application and amendments to personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)".
In addition, to apply personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against individuals in accordance with the annex.
In connection with the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions), provided for in paragraph two of this decision, it has been approved to exclude item 1783 of Annex 1 to the NSDC’s decision as of October 19, 2022 "On the application and amendments to personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)", which was put into effect by the Ukrainian President’s decree as of October 19, 2022 No. 726/2022.
The Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine, have been instructed to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions), provided for in paragraph two of this decision.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine must inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States and other states about the application of sanctions and raise the issue of them imposing similar restrictive measures.
Sanctions have been imposed on 119 people, including Russian singer Irina Allegrova, Ukrainian citizen, TV presenter and director Zhanna Badoeva, singer Dmitri Bilan, TV presenter Dana Borisova, singer Aleksandr Buinov, singer Larisa Dolina, actor Dmitri Diuzhev, singer Viktoria Daineko, actor Dmitry Kharatyan and singer Filip Kirkorov.
