Heavy fighting is going on to hold Soledar in the Donetsk region, with the enemy continuing to assault the city, despite suffering heavy losses.
Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Heavy fighting is going on to hold Soledar. The enemy does not pay attention to the heavy losses of their personnel and continues an active assault. The approaches to our positions are simply strewn with the bodies of dead enemy fighters," Maliar said.

According to her, Ukrainian fighters are courageously defending.
"Only a very strong nation can fight so desperately against a big and powerful enemy," Maliar said.
