Ukrainian aircraft launch nine strikes on enemy positions - General Staff

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update on January 15.

"During the day, the aircraft of the Defense Forces launched seven strikes on the areas where the occupiers were concentrated, as well as two strikes on the enemy's air defense positions. And our rocket and artillery forces struck two areas where the Russian invaders' manpower was concentrated," the report reads.

According to the General Staff, Russian troops conducted eight attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.

The threat of enemy air and missile strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure remains in place.

The invaders do not abandon their intentions to capture the entire Donetsk region. They are conducting offensive operations near Bakhmut and Avdiivka and are trying to improve their tactical position in the Kupiansk and Lyman areas. In the Novopavlivka, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson areas, Russia's forces are defending.

No offensive groups of the enemy were detected in the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna areas. Certain units of the Belarusian and Russian armed forces continue to perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine. At the same time, areas of the settlements of Sopych, Vovkivka and Kindrativka in the Sumy region and Starytsia, Huriv Kozachok, Budarka, Vovchansk, Strilecha, Ternova, Khatne and Topoli in the Kharkiv region came under mortar and artillery attacks.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman sectors, the enemy shelled the areas of more than 15 settlements, including Dvorichna, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove and Vilshana in the Kharkiv region, as well as Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Kuzmyne and Chervonopopivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut area, the enemy shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas of more than 20 settlements, including Spirne, Krasna Gora, Klishchiivka, Ivano-Darivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Druzhba and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka area, the invaders shelled Heorhiivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Marinka, Vodiane and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka area, Russia's forces fired at Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Mykilski Dachi.

In the Zaporizhzhia area, the enemy attacked the areas of more than 20 settlements, including Mylove, Huliaipole, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Stepove and Kachkarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

On the Kherson axis, enemy forces shelled the areas of more than 15 settlements, including Kherson and its suburbs.

The General Staff said the enemy continues to suffer significant losses.

Due to a shortage of beds in the hospitals of Horlivka, Donetsk region, all Russian soldiers wounded on the front line in the Donetsk area are being evacuated to Zhdanivka.
