Police car comes under enemy fire in Kherson region: One killed, four injured
The relevant statement was made by Head of the National Police of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region Serhii Shaikhet on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“On January 19, 2023, when shelling the Beryslav district’s de-occupied areas, the occupiers struck a car of Mykolaiv police special forces from the Tavr battalion with cannon artillery. Yurii Khyzhynskyi died at the scene. Four of his colleagues received numerous shrapnel injuries,” Shaikhet wrote, adding that doctors are now fighting for the life of one of them.
Yurii Khyzhynskyi was 29 years old. His law enforcement career started in 2014. Four years later, he was already defending his native land as part of the special police company in eastern Ukraine.
