Russia plotting discredit campaign against Ukraine’s military, political leadership – intelligence
The relevant statement was made by the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In particular, according to the data from the Ukrainian intelligence, the discredit campaign may target Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Shaptala, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Acting Head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhovskyi, and others.
Among other things, the discredit campaign may include an information attack with fake news stories in the Ukrainian and foreign media.
“The purpose of the information and psychological special operation is to sow uncertainty about the defense capabilities of our state among Ukrainian citizens and international partners. According to the Russian security services, this should cause political instability within the country and reduce trust in Ukraine on the part of the international anti-Putin coalition,” the Main Intelligence Directorate noted.
A reminder that Russia is continuously conducting an information and psychological campaign against Ukraine, involving very powerful and expensive forces.
