New mobilization effort to further exhaust Russia - Ukraine’s defense intelligence
This was stated by Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ministry of Defense, Vadym Skibitskyi, who spoke in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Ukrinform reports.
"Everything is ready. The personnel is there, the lists have been drafter, the people who are tasked with equipping and training the mobilized are also ready," Skibitskyi said.
However, he said, if the Russians decide on a new round of mobilization, they will face the same problems as in the previous effort, including a lack of modern weapons and equipment and officers capable of training the vast mass of untrained conscripts for combat.
"They (Russians - ed.) are preparing for the second wave of mobilization, but we believe that they will postpone it because they have not tackled all the challenges encountered during the first wave. They were not ready for such a large-scale mobilization then, and neither are they ready now," said a representative of military intelligence.
As reported by Ukrinform, citing a British intelligence update published today, the low level of training of the mobilized soldiers, insufficient coordination and lack of resources at the front became the main reasons behind the sharp rise in their daily death toll in the war against Ukraine.
