White House denounces 'absurdity' of Putin's speech
Sullivan told this to journalists, according to Aljazeera.
"Nobody is attacking Russia. [...] There's a kind of absurdity in the notion that Russia was under some form of military threat from Ukraine or anyone else," Sullivan said.
Putin on Tuesday delivered a message to the federal assembly ahead of the first anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He once again blamed the West for the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine, and promised to continue hostilities.
He also stated that the more long-range Western systems come to Ukraine, the further away Russia will be forced to push the threat from its borders.
He also said Russia would suspend its participation in the nuclear arms reduction treaty.
