Syrskyi visits Ukrainian units defending Bakhmut

Commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the military units of the Defense Forces that defend Bakhmut and the approaches to it.

“The commander of the Eastern Group of Forces checked the situation in the subordinate units, heard reports by units’ commanders on problematic issues, provided assistance in solving them, and encouraged service members repelling enemy attacks,” the Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

Syrskyi thanked all the defenders, noting their extraordinary resilience and heroism, and presented the best ones with valuable gifts.

The Command of the Ground Forces emphasizes that the enemy does not stop trying to break through the defense lines and capture Bakhmut: "Russian occupiers focused their main efforts on capturing Bakhmut and its suburbs. The battles are going on around the town and on its outskirts."

As reported, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev stated that the difficult and exhausting battles for Avdiivka and Bakhmut are bringing the long-awaited Victory Day closer.
