Lithuania raises EUR 14M to buy radars for Ukraine
This is stated on the campaign website, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Thank you! We raised 14 million euros during the campaign. Let's not stop at this," the website states.
The fundraising campaign lasted from January 30 to February 24 with the support of five high-profile Lithuanian public organizations. "The funds collected during the campaign were used for the purchase of multifunctional tactical radars. The purpose of the radars is to monitor the airspace around Ukrainian strategically important sites, such as power plants, water supply points, etc. They should help ensure Ukrainians live as normal a life as possible in winter," the organizers explain.
They also urged to "continue to support Ukraine together."
As reported by Ukrinform, the first SUVs supplied within the project of international technical assistance from the U.S. government have arrived in Ukraine to be used by the State Border Guard Service.
