Russia keeps 13 warships, two submarine missile carriers with eight Kalibrs off Crimea coast

That’s according to Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint press center of Operational Command South, who spoke at the national telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The threat remains high enough because the enemy is looking for new tactics. This is obvious, and we are watching this process carefully. We see that they reserve the right to try to search for and find our anti-aircraft defense capabilities because they disallow the effectiveness they sought to see from mass missile strikes, including pinpoint ones. Therefore, they use drones as reconnaissance in this regard. They also try to use other methods – air balloons, which we have seen. Now we see the amassing of their naval grouping in the Black Sea. In particular, these are 13 warships at this stage and two underwater missile carriers with eight Kalibrs on standby," Humeniuk noted, adding that the Defense Forces will also continue to monitor the activity of the enemy's tactical aviation.

Commenting on the situation in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region, the spokeswoman confirmed that the occupiers are not changing their tactics there and are now agitating the civilian population to flee in order to use them as cover as they retreat.

She also reported that the enemy is resorting to shelling populated areas wherever they are stationed in order to justify their escape to Russia’s top military and political leadership.

"The general situation regarding the deployment of Russian troops is generally characterized by the fact that they are setting up more and more defense fortifications on remote frontiers," the spokeswoman said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian army shelled Kherson region 119 times over the past day. Twenty-five settlements came under enemy fire.
