Russian missiles hit apartment block in Zaporizhzhia, nine civilians rescued from rubble

Nine civilians have been rescued from under the rubble of an apartment block hit by a Russian missile in the city of Zaporizhzhia last night.

The relevant statement was made by the Main Department of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service in the Zaporizhzhia region on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“On the night of March 2, 2023, the enemy launched missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia. As a result, floor 5 to floor 1 in a residential house were destroyed. As of 05:00 a.m., all emergency and relevant services were working at the scene,” the report states.

Nine civilians were rescued from under the rubble, including a pregnant woman. Twenty people were evacuated. Two bodies of victims were recovered from under the debris.

Twenty-four special equipment units and 90 professionals of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service are involved in rescue and firefighting operations.

A reminder that, on the night of March 2, 2023, Russia struck the city of Zaporizhzhia with missiles, presumably S-300. Three upper floors in an apartment block were destroyed.
