Russian senior lieutenant to be tried for murdering two civilians of Kyiv region
That’s according to the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.
Prosecutors of the Bucha District Prosecutor's Office forwarded to court an indictment in a special pre-trial investigation against senior lieutenant with Russia’s 5th separate guards tank brigade on charges of violating laws and customs of war.
Detectives found that in March 2022, five military Russian invaders, moving in a vehicle with a "V" mark and a "Tank specops forces Rus" inscription arrived at an enterprise outside Mriya, Bucha district, in Kyiv region.
As two civilians – the owner and security guard – came out to the gate, the Russian soldiers, having made sure that the two pose no threat to them, gave them the opportunity to go back to the premises. But as the civilians made several steps away, the suspects, together with an unidentified accomplice opened automatic fire in the civilians’ backs.
The two men, who sustained at least 12 gunshot wounds, died.
After that, the Russians entered the premises and looted the firm.
This crime has been recorded by CCTV cameras.
The cases of other persons complicit in the crime are investigated in separate proceedings.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, a Russian war pilot was sentenced to 12 years in prison for bombing civilian targets in Kharkiv region.
