Latvia has already provided EUR 300 million worth of military aid to Ukraine, and with the implementation of a new package, this amount will grow to EUR 370 million.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a joint press conference with his Latvian counterpart Krisjanis Karins in Kyiv on March 16, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Ukraine has already received more than EUR 300 million worth of military assistance from Latvia. And we thank you for the approval of a new aid package in the new budget, thanks to which this amount will reach EUR 370 million, or more than 1% of Latvia's GDP," Shmyhal said.

He also said that Ukraine appreciates the efforts of Latvian partners to train the Ukrainian military according to NATO standards, which, according to him, brings Ukraine a step closer to victory.

In addition, Shmyhal added that the Latvian government was one of the first countries to approve its national position on supporting Ukraine's membership in the EU, and thanked Latvia for such a decision and further consultation and advocacy work on this issue.

"Ukrainians appreciate the fact that you fight side by side with us, helping us with everything you have for the fight against the aggressor," Shmyhal said.
