Zelensky visits Kharkiv region, holds meeting on security situation

The President was briefed about the course of recovery in the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region, the construction of fortifications, the reconstruction of infrastructure and the provision of assistance to the affected citizens.
The military command reported on the operational situation in the area of responsibility of the Kharkiv operational grouping of troops.
The President also discussed with representatives of the energy industry the issue of supplying electricity to all settlements of Kharkiv region.
During the meeting, the Head of State handed over to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov the honorary award "Hero City of Ukraine", which the President awarded to Kharkiv in order to celebrate the feat, mass heroism and resilience of citizens in defending the city during the repelling of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. On March 6, 2022, Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decree awarding Kharkiv with an honorary award.
“I want to thank the city of Kharkiv. This is truly a hero city. Thanks to the residents of this beautiful city, it defends our independence side by side with other cities of our country,” the President said.
He also presented state awards to the servicemen who distinguished themselves during the defense of Kharkiv region against Russian invaders. The defenders were awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the II and III degrees, the Orders of Danylo Halytskyi and "For Courage" of the III degree.
“It is an honor for me to award and thank each and every one of you for the victory you bring every day, for the independence you ensure and the sovereignty you defend. For the future you give together with all the soldiers. Take care of yourself, your families and friends!” the Head of State stressed.
As reported, earlier on Wednesday, the President visited Donetsk region, including the frontline positions of the Ukrainian military in Bakhmut area.
