Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin called the opening of the Field Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in Ukraine another step towards ensuring full accountability for international crimes.

“Another step towards ensuring full accountability for international crimes. Signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the Field Office of the International Criminal Court in Ukraine with ICC Registrar Peter Lewis. I’m honored to open this new chapter in our cooperation,” Kostin posted on Twitter.

He emphasized that all perpetrators of international crimes in Ukraine must be brought to justice.

“This is just a start, a strong start. And I'm convinced we will not stop until all the perpetrators of international crimes committed against Ukraine are brought to justice. This includes the highest political and military leadership of the Russian criminal regime,” the Prosecutor General wrote.

ICC and the Office of the Prosecutor are true guardians of justice, Kostin underscored.

“We look forward to further cooperation in investigating and prosecuting Russia's atrocities against Ukraine. I firmly believe that our joint efforts will greatly contribute to building a more just world,” he added.

As reported, the agreement on the opening of the Field Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in Ukraine was signed at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin signed the document on behalf of Ukraine.

On March 17, the Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court issued warrants of arrest for Putin and Lvova-Belova.

Russian president and presidential commissioner for children's rights are suspected of war crimes – illegal deportation and transfer of the population, including children, from the occupied territory of Ukraine at least since February 24, 2022.
