In just one week, three Polish volunteers who fought as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces died at the front lines in Ukraine.

That’s according to the Minister of the Polish Prime Minister's Office, Michal Dworczyk, who broke the news on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"A seriously wounded Polish volunteer died in the Dnipro hospital this morning (Saturday - ed.). A tragic week – in total, three of our compatriots who fought on the side of Ukraine died," Dworczyk wrote.

According to the official, another gravely wounded Polish volunteer was evacuated to a Kyiv clinic.

Dworczyk also reported that the condition of the seriously wounded Polish volunteer who, together with a group of Polish paramedics, came under fire at the front a few days ago, has improved so much that he will soon be transported to Poland via Lviv.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, one of the Polish volunteers killed in action was a platoon commander with the International Legion. He had been in Ukraine since April last year. In a month, his contract was due to expire, and he planned to return to Poland in order to share his experience gained in Ukraine with the Polish army. Another KIA, named Pavel, 48, was hit by artillery fire at the front last Monday. Previously, he was awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.

As of today, several Polish citizens who fought in the Ukrainian Army have died in Ukraine. At the end of July 2022, a Polish MMA fighter Tomasz Walentek was killed. Last year’s December, Polish citizens Janusz Seremeta, Krzysztof Tyfel, and Daniel Styber perished.
