Offensive Guard sees over 35,000 applications from volunteers
Ruslan Muzychuk, the spokesman for the National Guard of Ukraine, said this on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"The total number of applications that were submitted for almost 2 months to all units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (which are part of the "Offensive Guard" — ed.) is slightly more than 35,000. And more than 16,000 are precisely those that pertain to our divisions," Muzychuk said.
According to him, more than 10 percent of all applicants have already been enrolled in military units.
In addition, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Minister Ihor Klymenko said during a meeting with Canada’s Ambassador to Ukraine Larisa Galadza that the volunteers joining the Offensive Guard brigades are “extremely motivated.”
Klymenko added that the Ministry was currently working on the implementation of a new system of social protection and medical rehabilitation of its servicemen, as well as their psychological support.
As reported earlier, more than 9,000 applications were submitted for joining the Liut (Fury) Brigade with the National Police. The unit is also part of the Offensive Guard project.
