Zelensky: We will return Ukrainian flag to all our cities
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a post on Telegram on the occasion of the liberation of the Kyiv region from the Russian occupiers, according to Ukrinform.
"The first offensives, the first achievements, the first liberated territories. It's been a year since we expelled the invaders from the Kyiv region. Ukrainian people! You have stopped the greatest anti-human force of our time. You have stopped a force that despises and wants to destroy everything that gives meaning to people. And we will free all our lands. We will return the Ukrainian flag to all our cities and communities. We will do everything to return Ukraine," he said.
On the evening of April 2, 2022, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that the Ukrainian military had liberated the Kyiv region from Russian invaders. Then the last enemy units were driven out of Bucha, Hostomel and Borodianka.
According to Ukraine's National Police, the occupiers killed 1,374 Ukrainians in the Kyiv region, and 280 are considered missing. Some 38 children died, and 34 were injured.
