The governments of Norway and Denmark agreed together to provide Ukraine with 8,000 artillery shells. Oslo will send 155-mm artillery shells and Copenhagen will provide appropriate fuses.

This is according to Baha, announced Ministries of Defense of Denmark and Norway, Ukrinform reported.

"Ukraine has a significant need for artillery ammunition. Norway will contribute where we can. It is important for both Europe's and Norway's security that Ukraine succeeds in standing up to Russia's attack," Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said.

The ministry also added that this assistance will complement Denmark's decision to transfer 19 Caesar self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Danish government said that this year it will set up a fund of 7 billion Danish kroner ($1.01 billion) for military, civilian and business assistance to Ukraine.

The fund, which had been agreed upon by the majority of parties in parliament, will allocate 5.4 billion Danish kroner for military assistance. Another 1.2 billion will send to civilian aid, and 0.4 billion Danish kroner will be allocated to Danish companies' efforts to rebuild Ukraine.

At the end of 2022, the Danish government and parliamentary parties agreed to allocate another 300 million Danish kroner (almost $43 million) to purchase weapons and equipment for Ukraine.

Also on February 13 this year, Denmark handed over to Ukraine all of its CAESAR self-propelled howitzers.
