US to announce another defense package for Ukraine this week

Ukrinform
The United States prepare to announce a new defense assistance package for Ukraine this week, which will be consistent with previous U.S. efforts to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Coordinator of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, said this on Monday during an online briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"You're gonna see, I think, another one comes this week. I don't have specifics to give you on the exact timing of that. But we've been working hard since the last one to develop the next one and the next one's coming very, very soon," the White House representative said.

Kirby also pointed out that the new package would be "consistent" in its amount with the U.S. assistance to Ukraine in recent weeks to supply the necessary weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The White House representative also expressed an assessment that as the weather conditions improve, a new dynamic of clashes is expected on the battlefield in Ukraine.

As earlier reported by Reuters, referring to the U.S. administration, a new $2.6 billion defense support package for Ukraine was being prepared.
