Damages from Russian crimes against environment of Luhansk region exceed UAH 475B
"To date, the inspection has recorded 45 crimes against the environment of Luhansk region committed by the Russian troops incurring losses in the amount of UAH 475.112.573,537," the Luhansk Regional Military Administration posted on Facebook.
As noted, according to the data from the State Environmental Inspection Department in Luhansk Region, the occupiers have partially destroyed the forest fund of Luhansk region on an area of more than 26,000 ha since the beginning of military operations. The total amount of damage is more than UAH 180 billion.
Moreover, the territory of the nature reserve fund was damaged as a result of the fires.
The invaders' use of heavy weapons and phosphorous munitions prohibited by the Geneva Convention, as well as Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems damages infrastructure, industry and critical facilities, contaminates land plots with remains of ordnance, equipment and premises. In addition, the fires at the facilities contaminate the air.
According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, premises and territories of energy facilities, shopping and entertainment centers, markets, educational institutions, and industrial facilities have been damaged.
Due to constant shelling, the land fund of Luhansk region suffers the most.
The damages from the destruction of the premises and equipment of Sievierodonetsk Azot PJSC already reach more than UAH 253 billion.
The Administration informs that the State Environmental Inspection Department in Luhansk Region takes all possible measures to record and calculate the damages caused to the natural environment of Luhansk region by the aggression of the Russian Federation. In particular, unmanned aerial vehicles are used for this, remote sensing of land plots is carried out using modern satellite technologies and information resources.
