The Russian army continues to spend significant resources for minimal success on the battlefield during its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the UK Defense Ministry said this in a new intelligence update published on Twitter.
"Russia continues to give high priority to resourcing operations in the wider Donetsk sector, including Marinka and Avdiivka districts, spending significant resources to achieve minimal success," the ministry said.
According to the update, over the last seven days, Russia has likely increased its armored assaults around the Donetsk region town of Marinka, 20km south-west of Donetsk city.
The ministry recalled that Marinka has been fought over since 2014 and has been largely destroyed by artillery exchanges.
"It commands the approaches to Donetsk and the key H15 road," the ministry added.
