Russian mine explodes near 4th power unit of Zaporizhzhia NPP
According to Ukrinform, Enerhodar Telegram channel reported this.
"Russian occupants continue to turn ZNPP into a military base, mining the perimeter around the plant. These actions are bound to have consequences. Sources say that an explosion occurred near the turbine room of unit 4. According to Russian nuclear terrorists themselves, their mine detonated," the statement reads.
Ukrainian nuclear workers who continue to work at the plant heard the explosion sounds. However, Russians tried to "calm down" the workers and quickly hide the traces so that the IAEA experts would not see it, the report said.
"Europe's largest nuclear facility continues to suffer from the arbitrariness of the Russian military and their henchmen. Meanwhile, Ukrainian personnel are desperately trying to maintain nuclear and radiation safety across the continent," the statement continued.
As Ukrinform reported, Enerhodar's mayor, Dmytro Orlov, said that over the past two weeks, the city residents have been noticing that Russian military are trying to mine everything around them.
