Russia has already fired 8,000 long-range anti-aircraft missiles at Ukraine, danger of strikes remains — Hromov
Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this during a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The threat of a massive missile strike on the territory of Ukraine remains. Air- and sea-launched cruise missile carriers are equipped and ready for use at airfields and base points," the brigadier general said.
According to him, since the beginning of April, Russian troops have launched 44 missile attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and carried out 38 attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles, 29 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers.
In this context, Hromov informed that since February 2022, Russia has spent at least 50% of its stockpile of long-range anti-aircraft missiles, using at least 8,000 such missiles, mostly of the surface-to-surface class. "At the current level of production, Russia will not be able to restore its reserve in the medium term, which could potentially jeopardize Moscow's ability to defend its strategic interests in the Far East and the border with NATO countries," he added.
At the same time, Hromov said that according to available data, in June of this year, the Russian Federation plans to start mass production of strategic air-launched cruise missiles of the Kh-50 type, which "will allow the Kremlin to intensify missile strikes on the territory of our country in the fall."
As reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the spring and summer period, the Russian Federation will increase the quantitative and qualitative indicators of its troops, continue to form strategic reserves, and move them to the borders of Ukraine, and may continue to conduct covert mobilization of the population.
