Warsaw will soon hand over another batch of MiG-29 fighter jets to Kyiv.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated this in his speech to the Atlantic Council in Washington, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The transfer of the next batch (of MiG-29s - ed.) is underway," Morawiecki said.

He noted that the Polish Air Force currently has 48 F-16 jets. Allies also support Poland, in particular the USA, which sent F-22s to the Republic of Poland as part of strengthening NATO's eastern flank.

He reminded that next year Poland will receive F-35 multi-purpose fighter jets from the United States. Therefore, according to him, Poland no longer needs MiG-29 jets.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Federal Government of Germany approved Poland's request to send MiG-29 fighter jets from the stocks of the former GDR to Ukraine. Last week, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that Poland had already transferred eight MiG-29 jets to Ukraine and is preparing to transfer six more.
