Ukrainian forces repel 56 enemy attacks

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a morning update published on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiiv and Marinka areas. The fiercest fighting is ongoing in Bakhmut and Marinka. In the past day, 56 enemy attacks were repelled," the report said.

On April 14, the enemy launched nine air strikes and 19 missile strikes, 13 of them from S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems against Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Russian forces also used multiple rocket launchers 42 times to attack Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure. Civilian casualties were recorded whereas apartment blocks and private houses, as well as civilian infrastructure, were destroyed and damaged.

The probability of missile and air strikes on targets across Ukraine remains high.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna areas, the operational situation has not changed significantly, with no signs of the formation of offensive groups recorded. Some units of the territorial troops of the Russian armed forces remain in Belarus. A comprehensive check of the combat readiness of the Belarusian armed forces is underway.

The enemy keeps military presence in the Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.

In the past day, the enemy shelled the settlements of Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region, Studenok, Rivne, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfyne in the Sumy region, as well as Kozacha Lopan, Tokarivka, Mali Prokhody, Strilecha, Lukiantsi, Neskuchne, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Nesterne and Zemlianky in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces shelled the settlements of Stroivka, Dvorichanske, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Lyman Pershyi, Kindrashivka, Masiutivka, Tabaivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman area, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions outside the settlements of Dibrova and Bilohorivka. The settlements of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka of the Luhansk region and Torske, Dibrova and Spirne of the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy continues to conduct offensive action. Heavy fighting continued for the city of Bakhmut. The settlements of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Diliivka, Toretsk and New York of the Donetsk region were hit by enemy fire.

In the Avdiivka area, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive action near the settlements of Novokalynove and Pervomayske of the Donetsk region. The settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Karlivka  came under fire.

On the Marinka axis, over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks outside the town of Marinka, Donetsk region. At the same time, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka came under enemy fire.

The enemy did not carry out offensive operations in the Shakhtarsk area in the last day. The settlements of Bohoiavlenka, Shakhtarske, Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Zolota Nyva, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson sectors. Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have shelled more than 40 settlements near the contact line, including Vremivka and Novopil of the Donetsk region, Olhivske, Malynivka, Chervone, Huliaipole, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka and Orikhiv of the Zaporizhzhia region, Zolota Balka, Novoberyslav, Kozatske, Burhunka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Antonivka, Bilozerka and Dniprovske of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Russian invaders continue to commit looting in the temporarily captured territory of Ukraine. In particular, in the Nova Kakhovka district of the Kherson region, cases have been recorded of oil being drained from power transformers, which in turn leads to the blackout of individual streets of the district's settlements.

The aircraft of Ukrainian defense forces carried out five strikes on Russian military personnel and equipment concentration areas in the past 24 hours.

Units of missile troops and artillery hit a Russian command post, three enemy concentration areas and an electronic warfare station.
