War update: Ukraine Army repels over 60 enemy attacks in four directions

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Over the past day, Russian invaders have launched 23 air strikes. On the night of April 21, 2023, the enemy used about 10 Shahed-136 suicide drones (information is yet to be updated), and eight of them were shot down by Ukrainian defenders. Russian occupiers also opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 49 times, namely on the positions of Ukrainian forces and settlements. Casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to detached houses and other civil infrastructure objects.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged.

Over the past day, Russian troops have opened fire on the Chernihiv region’s Yanzhulivka, Halahanivka and Hremiachka; the Sumy region’s Stukalivka and Pavlivka; and the Kharkiv region’s Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Neskuchne and Khatnie.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Kharkiv region’s Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne and Berestove came under enemy fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops were trying to improve their tactical position and conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Serebrianske forestry. The enemy launched artillery strikes on the Luhansk region’s Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka; the Donetsk region’s Ivanivka, Verkhniokamianske and Spirne.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian invaders continue conducting offensive actions. Fierce battles for the city of Bakhmut continue. The enemy shelling also affected the Donetsk region’s Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Zalizne, Nelipivka and New York.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian occupiers were conducting offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Kamianka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske, but had no success.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled numerous enemy attacks near the Donetsk region’s Marinka and Pobieda.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy opened fire on the Donetsk region’s Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka, Zolota Nyva, Prechystivka and Vuhledar.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian occupiers are holding defense. Over 40 settlements came under enemy fire, including the Zaporizhzhia region’s Olhivske, Malynivka, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka and Novoandriivka; the Kherson region’s Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Zmiivka, Ivanivka, Inzhenerne, Dniprovske, and the city of Kherson.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched six strikes on enemy clusters. Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit five Russian command posts.
