Strike on Kyiv: air defense downs 11 missiles, two drones
That’s according to Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.
"After a 51-day pause, the enemy launched another missile attack on Kyiv. (The latest missile strike targeting the capital was on March 9, 2023). According to the reports that are being verified, Russia employed strategic bombers to launch the strike. As per tentative reports, 11 cruise missiles were destroyed in Kyiv’s airspace," official wrote on Telegram.
In addition to the missiles, two enemy UAVs were shot down (the type of drones is yet to be reported). Preliminary reports say a downed object’s debris damaged a local power line and road surface in Kyiv’s Obolon district.
According to the head of the administration, no civilian casualties were reported. Residential blocks have not been affected, according to the official, who added that the reports on the aftermath of the strike are being further clarified.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, an air raid alert was announced across Ukraine as of 4:20 overnight Friday, April 28.
