Canadian instructors teach mine safety to Ukrainian military in Poland
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As russia’s war rages on, Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are facing an explosive threat on the battlefield. A troop of Canadian Combat Engineers have been helping Ukraine mitigate this threat as part of Operation UNIFIER. Lieutenant Jacques Pecora is in Poland and talks about how his team of sappers are teaching Ukrainian soldiers many of the skills they need to survive and thrive,” the report states.
According to the General Staff, the CAF members are on the ground in Poland to leverage their training expertise and instruct Ukrainian defenders on weapons handling, ensuring their operational readiness.
A reminder that, since the Operation UNIFIER was launched in 2015, the Canadian Armed Forces have trained over 35,000 Ukrainian military and security personnel in battlefield tactics and advanced military skills.
