Ukraine downs 8 Shahed kamikaze drones overnight Sat

That’s according to the press service of Ukraine’s Air Force, Ukrinform reports.

"On the night of May 6, 2023, the enemy launched Shaheds from the southern direction – the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov. The occupiers used eight Shahed-136/131 one-way attack drones. All of them were downed by the forces of Air Command East," reads the statement posted on Facebook.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine’s Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk confirmed that the Patriot system on May 4 successfully intercepted Russia’s Kinzhal hypersonic missile over Kyiv region. This is the first known case where the Kinzhal missile was downed in Ukraine.
