Zelensky presents awards to infantry soldiers
"Today, Ukraine celebrates the bravery and strength of its infantry soldiers - the very thing that gives our country the most significant results and the invincibility of our defense. Today it is a great honor for me to congratulate you on Infantry Day, it is an honor for me to daily represent in relations with the world, in particular, our service members, such as our infantry soldiers – exemplary Ukrainian bravery, exemplary Ukrainian resilience" Zelensky said, the President’s Office reports.
The President noted that it is not easy for the world to get rid of the long-standing illusions about the allegedly invincible Russia, but Ukrainian soldiers, in particular infantry soldiers, are overcoming this seemingly invincible evil and are changing history with their resilience and courage, uniting the world around Ukraine.
Zelensky noted that great warriors gave their lives for Ukraine to live and win. He wished the infantry soldiers to continue to be a reliable, unbreakable foundation of the heroic defense of Ukraine, and also presented state awards on the occasion of the holiday.
"The state stands strong because you fight with dignity – together with all Ukrainian defense and security forces! I thank you for this!” Zelensky added.
The Head of State presented the infantry soldiers with state awards and awarded honorary decorations to three military units.
On May 6, Ukrainian infantry soldiers celebrate their professional holiday – the Day of the Infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine which was established in 2019 by fifth president Petro Poroshenko.
