Armed Forces of Ukraine repel more than 30 enemy attacks

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00 on Saturday, May 6, published on Facebook.

"Heavy battles are being fought for the cities of Bakhmut and Marinka. In total, the enemy launched more than 30 attacks during the day," the General Staff reported.

Ukraine’s Air Force launched five strikes on the enemy personnel and military equipment clusters, and one strike — on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.

Today, the Ukrainian defenders destroyed four Shahed-136/131 combat drones and two reconnaissance drones.

The Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit an enemy command post, three weapons and military equipment clusters, and an artillery unit at the firing position.

During the day, the Russian army launched six missile strikes, 25 airstrikes, and more than 20 MLRS attacks. The invaders attacked with missiles, in particular, Kherson city, Chasiv Yar and Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region.

Private houses and other civilian infrastructure objects were destroyed and damaged by enemy fire.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in Volyn and Polissia directions. The training of territorial defense units of the Russian Federation is ongoing at the training grounds in the Republic of Belarus.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. During the day, Russian aircraft struck the areas of Zarichchia, Leonivka, and Krasnyi Khutir settlements in Chernihiv region.

The invaders used artillery and mortars to hit Zaliznyi Mist and Leonivtka in Chernihiv region; Rivne, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Volfyne in Sumy region; Lemishchene, Hraniv, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Lukyantsi, Neskuchne, Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrymivka, Chorne, and Khatnie in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Synkivka. Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Synkivka, Pischane, Vyshneve, and Stelmakhivka in Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, the invaders are searching for weak points in Ukraine’s defense. The enemy carried out offensive operations in the direction of Bilohorivka and Spirne, but had no success. Makiyivka and Nevske in Luhansk region; Bilohorivka and Spirne in Donetsk region were struck with artillery.

In Bakhmut direction, the Russian army continues to go on the offensive. Battles in the city of Bakhmut are ongoing. During the day, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the directions of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, and New York.

Vesele, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pivdenne, Toretsk, Pivnichne, and New York in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Avdiyivka direction, the Russians did not go on the offensive. Instead, they shelled Berdychi, Avdiyivka, Sieverne, Karlivka, Netaylove, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk region.

In Marinka direction, the Ukrainian troops repelled numerous Russian attacks in the area of Marinka. Heorhiyivka and Pobieda in Donetsk region suffered enemy attacks.

In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct offensive operations during the day. Instead, they shelled Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to hold the defense and shell populated settlements near the contact line.

In particular, Burlatske, Vilne Pole, Novopil in Donetsk region; Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaypole, Charivne, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamyanske in Zaporizhzhia region; Kherson, Zolota Balka, and Antonivka in Kherson region came under enemy fire.

According to the General Staff data, the Russian invaders continue to rob Ukrainian citizens and businesses in the temporarily occupied territories.
