Body of Russian pilot found in Kyiv Reservoir

"The body of a Russian pilot was found in the Kyiv Reservoir. The law enforcement officers established that the deceased was a Russian serviceman as evidenced by his uniform and chest chevron. A memo of a Mi-24 helicopter pilot was also found," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine posted on Telegram.

The photo, published on the Ministry’s Telegram channel, shows an element of the pilot's clothing with the words "Senior Lieutenant R.G. Mankishev" sewn on.

As reported, in June 2022, the wreckage of two Russian military helicopters shot down at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine was raised from the bottom of the Kyiv Reservoir.
