Russians fire cluster, white phosphorus munitions at Zaporizhzhia region’s settlement
The relevant statement was made by the Main Department of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service in the Zaporizhzhia region on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“At 10:05 p.m., May 10, 2023, [Russian] occupiers massively fired cluster and white phosphorus munitions at a village in the Zaporizhzhia district. As a result, five residential houses caught fire and six more were damaged,” the report states.
Five people received injuries, and two of them were ambulance workers. The enemy shelling also caused damage to two ambulance cars.
A gas pipeline was hit, and a gas service team was working at the scene.
When extinguishing fire in one of houses, firefighters rescued a woman and handed her over to medics. The fire was promptly extinguished.
A total of 48 professional and nine equipment units of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service were involved in rescue works. Local emergency and police services also joined the efforts.
