AFU repel 22 attacks on Tavria direction, eliminate more than a company of invaders
The joint press center of the Defense Forces of Tavria direction posted this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"In the Tavria direction, the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. Over the past day, the enemy attacked our positions 22 times. After being repelled, they retreated," the report says.
As noted, using tanks, multiple launch rocket systems and barrel artillery, the enemy fires at Ukrainian positions and settlements bordering the contact line. The enemy uses UAVs to adjust artillery fire. In total, 409 attacks were recorded in the Tavria direction over the day.
According to the press center, in the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, the enemy shelled the settlements of Berdychi, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novoukrainka in Donetsk region. The Russian forces launched airstrikes on the areas near Prechystivka and Novosilka, as well as Novokalynove and Avdiivka.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy is holding the defense. Russian invaders launched airstrikes on the areas of Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Stepnohirsk, Kizomys and Stanislav. Russian forces also shelled the settlements of Vremivka, Novopil in Donetsk region; Malynivka, Huliaipole, Mykilske, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Kamianske, Malokaterynivka, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Olhivske, Bilohirya, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Zatyshshia in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Units of the Ukrainian missile forces and artillery in the Tavria direction performed 730 fire missions over the day. More than a company of Russian invaders was eliminated. In addition, 10 units of enemy military equipment were destroyed and damaged, the press center informed.
As reported by Ukrinform, from February 24, 2022 to May 11, 2023, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 196,920 Russian aggressors, including 610 invaders over the past day alone.
