One person was killed and four others were wounded in a firefight between the military on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Xinhua.
It is noted that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense confirmed the death of one of its soldiers, while the Armenian Defense Ministry reported four wounded.
“The two sides blamed each other for triggering the new round of clashes, which broke out in the middle of their border” Xinhua said.
The territorial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been going on for decades. The last time large-scale armed clashes resumed was in September 2020, but the ceasefire signed in November of that year put an end to them.
