Ukrainian forces launch 12 airstrikes on enemy troop concentration areas

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update, according to Ukrinform.

"In the past day, our defenders shot down 22 enemy UAVs of various types. Rocket forces and artillery units hit two command posts, three manpower concentration areas, seven artillery pieces in firing positions, an ammunition depot, as well as two enemy electronic warfare stations," the General Staff said.

The enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka axis. Some 47 combat engagements occurred in these areas on May 12, with Bakhmut and Marinka remaining the epicenter of hostilities.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy has launched seven missile strikes and 49 airstrikes, using multiple launch rocket systems 81 times. The enemy once again used the S-300 air defense system to launch missile strikes on Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, and Zaporizhzhia.

"The probability of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high, because the enemy continues to use terror tactics," the General Staff said.

On the Volyn and Polissia axis, the operational situation has not changed significantly, with no signs of the formation of offensive groups.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axis, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the settlements of Karpovychi and Medvedivka in the Chernihiv region; Sokhany, Volfyne, Slavhorod and Popivka in the Sumy region, as well as Chervona Zoria, Veterynarne, Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Nesterne and Velykyi Burluk in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to improve its tactical position by carrying out offensive actions in the direction of Masiutivka. The settlements of Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Mytrofanivka, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kyslivka and Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy shelled the settlements close to the combat line, including Makiivka, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske and Spirne in the Donetsk region.

The enemy continues to advance in the Bakhmut sector. Fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut. In the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive action in the direction of the settlements of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, and Stupochky. The enemy carried out airstrikes on the areas of the settlements of Bohdanivka, Bakhmut and New York. The settlements of Vasiukivka, Fedorivka Druha, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Pivdenne, Toretsk, Druzhba, Pivnichne, and New York of the Donetsk region were hit by enemy shelling.

On the Avdiivka axis, the enemy carried out airstrikes outside of Avdiivka and Vodiane and shelled the settlements of Stepove, Avdiivka, Netailove and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka area, units of Ukraine's defense forces repelled multiple enemy attacks outside Marinka. At the same time, the settlements of Hostre, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Mariinka and Pobieda of the Donetsk region came under enemy shelling.

During the past day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations on the Shakhtarske axis. The enemy carried out airstrikes near Prechystivka and Velyka Novosilka and shelled the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka and Prechystivka.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson sectors. The enemy carried out an airstrike outside Novopil of the Donetsk region, Malynivka and Chervone of the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Kizomys of the Kherson region. The enemy also shelled settlements located near the line of contact, including Vremivka and Novopil of the Donetsk region, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Novopavlivka, Mali Shcherbaky and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, Kozatske, Ivanivka, Sadove, Antonivka of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

In order to replenish losses in military personnel, demobilized soldiers arrived at an enemy unit operating in the Svatove district of the Luhansk region. It is known that among the newly arrived personnel there are service members who underwent treatment and rehabilitation due to mental disorders.

Recently, amid significant losses, the Russian occupiers have been intensifying counter-intelligence measures in temporarily captured settlements. In particular, the number of checkpoints and patrols increased in Yalta, Donetsk region. Representatives of the Russian commandant's office are searching for "informants" and conducting raids.
