War update: About 30 combat engagements occur in four directions today
This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, May 14, published on Facebook.
The troops of the Russian Federation continue to focus their main efforts on the mentioned areas. Bakhmut and Marinka in Donetsk region remain at the epicenter of military operations.
In total, during the day, the invaders launched six missile strikes, 27 airstrikes, and about 20 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated settlements. In particular, the enemy fired missiles at Kharkiv city and Zolochiv village in Kharkiv region.
As a result of enemy attacks, civilians were killed and injured; private houses, other civilian and administrative infrastructure objects were destroyed and damaged.
Ukraine’s Air Force carried out a total of 12 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment clusters today.
The Ukrainian defenders also destroyed two Orlan-10 enemy reconnaissance drones and one Supercam drone.
Missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit an enemy command post, six manpower clusters, two artillery units on firing positions, and another important target.
In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has changed significantly, no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected.
In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, Russia continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. The Russians hit Hirsk, Leonivka, Popivka in Chernihiv region; Volfyne and Sadky in Sumy region; Oleksandrivka and Starytsia in Kharkiv region with artillery and mortars.
In Kupyansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Masiutivka and Synkivka. The invaders used aircraft to strike areas near Vilshana and Kyslivka; artillery and mortars – Kamyanka, Topoli, Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashivka, Tabaivka in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.
During the day, Russian troops did not carry out offensive operations in Lyman direction. Instead, they launched airstrikes on the areas of Yampil, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamyanske, and Spirne. Makiyivka in Luhansk region; Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, and Berestove in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery fire.
In Bakhmut direction, the Russian army continues to conduct offensive operations, and heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. During the day, the Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, and Predtechyne.
The invaders hit Ivanivske and Stupochky areas with aircraft. Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Chervone, Kostiantynivka, Druzhba, Pivnichne, Toretsk, and Shumy in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops launched airstrikes on Novokalynove and Avdiyivka areas, shelled Stepove, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Netaylove, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka in Donetsk region.
In Marinka direction, the Ukrainian troops repelled numerous Russian attacks in the area of Marinka. Krasnohorivka, Heorhiyivka, Marinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
During the day, the Russian army did not carry out offensive operations in Shakhtarske direction. Instead, Vuhledar, Novoukrayinka, and Prechystivka were struck.
In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops continue to hold the defense. The enemy used aircraft to attack the areas of Kizomys and Stanislav in Kherson region. Moreover, the invaders shelled about 30 settlements.
In particular, Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region; Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Kamyanske in Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region; Kherson, Zolota Balka, Vesele, Lviv, Antonivka, Dniprovske, Kizomys in Kherson region came under enemy fire.
It has been established that Russia’s defense ministry continues taking measures to integrate the illegal armed formations of the terrorist organization "DPR" into its armed forces.
