Russian war in Ukraine an example for Taiwan of how to resist larger army - Austin

Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression has become an important lesson for Taiwan, showing how a smaller military can successfully defend against a larger one.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said this at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, May 16, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"One of those lessons is that with asymmetric capabilities and asymmetric tactics and techniques, a smaller force can do a really good job in defending themselves against a larger force," he said.
He noted that thanks to international support in the form of weapons, equipment, ammunition, and training, Ukrainian troops had not only prevented Russia from seizing their country, but have also recaptured areas earlier seized by Moscow.
Austin also said the United States was ready to provide Taiwan with all the necessary assistance, as has been done with Ukraine.
