Register of Ukraine's losses from Russian aggression created at CoE summit
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"We have just signed a political declaration in Reykjavik on the creation of a register of damage caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine. I am grateful to the Council of Europe and all the member states that supported this landmark decision at a high level," Shmyhal said.
According to him, the registry is an important step on the way to justice and compensation for Ukraine and Ukrainians for the damage caused by Russia. Now it is necessary to ensure the registry's operation so that victims of Russian aggression can submit their claims.
"Our goal is to create a comprehensive compensation mechanism that will ensure that Russia pays full compensation to Ukraine in accordance with international law. In particular, at the expense of Russian assets in the world. We are moving towards this goal together with our partners," the Prime Minister emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, the Prime Minister of Ukraine together with the government delegation is participating in the Council of Europe Summit, which began on May 16 in Reykjavik.
